HDFC Bank announced it had introduced Platinum and Superia for doctors, according to PTI. The payment method can be used at credit card terminals and other places for items needed. The cards will be especially good for doctors who travel to airports all over the globe and will give them rewards as well. The implantation represents a larger strategy for the private sector lender, as it hopes to distribute one million cards. The company’s leadership said that it was unveiling an aggressive strategy.

“We are adding 90,000 to 100,000 credit cards every month which is more than the double of what credit card industry is doing,” he said. “We have plans to launch 1 million new credit cards in 2012-13 which is more than what we launched last fiscal.”

Financial firms are attempting a number of strategies to increase the number of card members. MasterCard recently signed a deal with shop kick to unveil a new mobile rewards program.
