One of the largest technology companies in the world recently made headlines after giving users a rebate for trying out the new program.

CreditCards.org reports that over the next few months, Google will be giving consumers $10 toward the purchase of goods or services if they engage in the near field communication merchant service. According to the Google Commerce blog, the company will be hosting a number of demonstrations in Chicago, San Fransisco, Washington, D.C., New York City and Los Angeles.

“Google Wallet is teaming up with Sprint and Samsung on a roadshow to introduce you to Google Wallet and give you the chance to try it, in stores,” the company stated. “You’ll not only get to see Google Wallet in action, but you’ll also get $10 towards your purchase when you tap and pay using one of the Samsung Nexus S demo phones.”

Other mobile payment service providers have been making deals to increase adoption. Square recently announced that it had signed a contract with Walmart to install payment terminals.
