Some of the leading executives from the merchant services industry will soon gather in Utah to discuss industry issues and the future of the sector.

High-level employees from Isis, PayPal, Visa and MasterCard will all come together in Salt Lake City for the Smart Card Alliance 2012 Payment Summit. In addition to some social mixers, those in attendance will be able to hear speeches from Ed McLaughlin, chief emerging payments officer at MasterCard, and Jim Stapleton, chief sales officer at Isis.

Those in charge of the conference said the gathering would help professionals understand a shifting marketplace.

“With card, mobile and transit payments industries moving rapidly towards game-changing technologies, the Payments Summit presents an ideal setting for all of the stakeholders to come together to discuss and collaborate on what 2012 will mean for their individual industries, as well as how they can come together on convergent solutions,” said Randy Vanderhoof, executive director of the Smart Card

Alliance

In October, the Smart Card Alliance hosted the “EMV for Merchant Acquirers: U.S. Migration Consideration,” which gave attendees the chance to learn about similarly important aspects of the business.
