In a recent statement, JPMorgan Chase announced that it would be appointing a brand new CEO to head its credit card program.

The financial institution stated that Eileen Serra would be taking over as head of Chase Card Services, overseeing a number of different programs. Serra will be moving from her current post as the head of the mass affluent and affluent high net worth programs to take the helm of all consumer-branded products, including small business card, partner card products, commercial card and business in Canada.

“Eileen has excelled in every role she’s performed at the firm,” Gordon Smith, co-CEO of Chase consumer and community banking. “She has been a leader in developing a strategy and innovative card products that continue to offer great value to our millions of customers. I expect that Eileen will continue her laser-like focus on deepening our relationships with customers and maintaining a profitable business strategy.”

Chase made other news when it introduced a new payment program equipped with new technology. The firm launched Future Proof Terminal, which is able to accept both payments from smartphones and high-tech chip cards.
