One of the largest online merchant services companies recently stated that it would be testing new strategies in Sweden to help users adopt mobile payment methods.

PayPal announced that it would be introducing near field communication stickers at various locations in Stockholm, enabling iPhone and Android users to make credit card payments in more efficient ways.

Those running the new mobile payment method are hoping that customers will find the new system easy to use and make the task of digging through a purse or wallet for a card a thing of the past.

“We are experimenting with a lot things, in order to deploy next year with several retailers. As always, Northern Europe is always ahead of everyone,” said Olivier Binet, innovation business development manager at PayPal, in an interview with PC World.

PayPal has been making news in the United States as well by introducing new ways for people to make payments. TechCrunch reports that the eBay-owned firm will be rolling out a method allowing consumers to scan quick response codes when completing transactions.
