Most independent service organizations (ISOs) understand the importance of protecting valuable data.

Most independent service organizations (ISOs) understand the importance of protecting valuable data. One of the best ways to achieve this is to reachPayment Card Industry (PCI) compliance. In an effort to make the process run more smoothly, security management  company Catbird Networks recently came out with a brand-new guide.

In a release, the company said that PCI compliance was becoming more important as technology continues to develop. Being able to engage in payment processing operations could help businesses in the long run and the guide will help make compliance easier.

“This is the first time that there’s been auditor-approved, actionable guidance for what you need to do to remain compliant,” said Tamar Newberger, VP of Catbird. “This is a very hot issue. People needed direction on how to implement a PCI-compliant”

Other industry experts say that some retailers needed to go beyond the traditional PCI compliance standards. In an interview with Convenience Store Decision, Trinette Huber, head of security for Sinclair Oil Corporation, said that compliance alone doesn’t guarantee no breaches will occur.
