Many customers are constantly embracing new technologies in their daily lives. Excited to use new devices during everyday processes, many retailers have found patrons calling for them to embrace mobile payments . By providing wireless credit card terminals, store owners can situate themselves as thought leaders that are looking to offer the best, freshest options for their customers.

Not all retailers are well-versed in setting these services up and processing such transactions, however. Many leaders are turning to mobile payment service providers for help and to answer the many questions beginners might have.

PayAnywhere?’s Tracy Metzger told CIO Magazine that any business administrator in the retail industry should consider looking into these options because mobile solutions help employees service patrons no matter where they are. Moreover, PayPal senior director of communications Anuj Nayar told the news outlet that after setup, the tools can immediately begin processing transactions and help store owners save money per payment.

A Deloitte study indicated that this is a good idea for merchants, as there are nearly 6 billion individuals with smartphones worldwide. As such, those that don’t optimize their payment options might lose out in the future when the trend becomes more widespread.
