The mobile payment sector is gaining popularity across the country, in some cases leading to a major increase in employment.
One of the leading brands in this field is Square, which was cofounded by Jack Dorsey, who previously helped create Twitter. Dorsey and his staff recently made their way to the campus of MIT in Cambridge, Massachusetts, to help get some of the best talent for the anticipated expansion, the Boston Globe reports.
Dorsey said that his firm plans to double its staff size next year, and was looking to the reputable school to see who was interested in joining the relatively new company
“Square is going after a very big problem, which is commerce,” said Dorsey ahead of a meeting with students at MIT’s Stata Center. “We have a very large ambition for what we want to do, and also the speed with which we want to do it.”
There are many signs that the IT sector is a good field for those looking to get hired. Figures rom the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics found that there was a net increase of 20,400 IT jobs in July.Back To Blog
