Coffee titan Starbucks is offering monied consumers a new way to pay for mochas, lattes and machiattos. The retailer is offering an exclusive gift card constructed out of steel exclusively through Gilt.com. The card sells for $450 and may be an ideal holiday gift for serious caffeine enthusiasts. The card also features access to benefits from its gold club, including free refills and exclusive gifts.
This campaign reflects new Starbucks initiatives, and the company announced this week that it will be opening 1,500 new U.S.. locations over the next five years. Currently, Seattle and Las Vegas are Starbucks’ most densely located cities. These new locations are likely to extend Starbucks’ clout in the retail beverage industry.
Starbucks is moving forward on technology projects as well, adding mobile credit card processing services to many of its locations. A diversity of transaction types allows Starbucks to suit the needs of a variety of customers.
